· Who are the key player?
Brenda Connors; Sam Shephard the Assistant Principal; Carlos Cortez the Latino Teacher; Margaret Juhl the veteran teacher who is close to retirement; Bill Hill the custodian; Phyllis Gleason the school secretary and Jaime Rodriguez the new Principal

· What is the interest of each of the key players or groups?
Sam was passed over for Principal and is bitter about it. He is close to retiring. He is not very respectful to the students or his new principal. I feel he is burned out and ready to be done. Carlos' interest is in the Latino students and being treated fairly. Margret cares about the school and the veteran teachers. She wants to be able to teach without limitations. Bill loves the school, students and community. He wants to help Principal Rodriguez. Phyllis also loves the school and students and wants to help Principal Rodriguez. She is very loyal to the school and her principal. Principal Rodriguez wants what is best for his students but also wants his teachers to do their best for the students. He needed to go about it in a better way and at the end realizes he should have taken a different route.

· How much power does each player have?
Each person involved had some sort of "power". Margaret had the respect of parents and teachers and she was the former teachers union representative. She was able to give insight into how teachers were feeling. Bill is the eyes and ears of the school and community. He has friends on the board and he knows parents and students. He was able to give Principal Rodriguez names of two parents that could help him from a parents perspective. Phyllis knows everything about the school and the relationships teachers had with one another as well as how the past principal ran the school. Jaime had the authority of a principal instilled in him but was still not sure how to use it to do the job well. He will have more power once he understands what he needs to do.

· How is conflict resolved?
The conflict was resolved when Principal Rodriguez realized he had failed at his first approach to the staff of his new school. He went back and talked to those he thought were totally against him and found out that by being calm and communicating with the staff and really listening to what they had to say, they were all wanting the same thing: what is best for the students. That is minus Sam Shephard the assistant principal who was close to retirement and needed to retire.
